I've covered some amazing producers so far. Those with real star quality, technical skill, creativity, and flare. Responsible for some of the best movies around the scene. Today's spotlight not only covers somebody who is a true star also, and has all the above, but a genuine legend too!
Ruff Broco's story is one of been there, done it all. He's most certainly achieved it all too. Most importantly though, and luckily for us, he's still doing his thing, at 65 movies and counting on Naughty Machinima. The views, ratings, and reputation say it all. On this blog alone he features as the most popular post of all time. All underling his status.
Ruff's long directing career in SL Porn as you'd expect has given us some memorable movies, and featured a huge amount of stars, many of which began their careers and made their name on his productions. We can't forget either that his involvement on movies with "Jennnna Jameson" ( if you're really really new to all this..that's Emanuelle jameson! ) led to her subsequent move into her own projects, the pornstars group, and blog, and has given rise to the whole pornstar scene as we know it today in Second Life. Ruff Broco really is a cornerstone of this scene. If there was a Hall of fame for our business, you just know Ruff would be a nailed on certainty!
Ruff is still today introducing us to hot new talent, with his "Fresh faces" series. He's not just predictably singling out sexy babes either for the star treatment. Male Pornstars like Teflon have been given starring roles in big impressive productions. Such as his latest movie "Love faces". If i was a more prolific movie maker myself, I'd like to follow this example, and i believe Ruff should get the credit he deserves for it.
All this says his motivations are spot on. They are way above point scoring, and ego trips, he's making movies for all the right reasons. I really don't believe you could set such a high standard, for so long without his great attitude, and genuine enjoyment of creative movie making.
Ruff is not just part of the background, or famous for just being around so long. His reputation is built on being a skillful director, making a genre his own, and delivering us his art so well, time and time again. To produce a regular sex video is not that hard, if you apply the effort you can produce a very decent standard and win respect. Ruff Broco though adds an extra special something, something i am not sure you can get even through lots of practice, he has a wonderful artists eye and genuine style.
In some of my favourite Ruff movies, you'll see a beautifully hot scene play out to a often very sensual and sexy R&B track. Ruff matches the mood and imagery the song generates in your head, and brings it to life on the screen like nobody else can. Pro music video makers can generate this mood of course, and the comparison with Ruff's work shows us just how lucky we are to have him among us. Of course Ruff's hands are not tied either, and he go way beyond the mainstream music video rules, and take the song all the way into the XXX rated world of SL Porn.
You cannot have the perfect XXX movie without a stunning on screen couple, or group. So it's a good thing for us some of the best casting in SL Porn is now somewhat of a trademark for his many productions. Ruff has delivered on this time and time again, he knows what he likes, he knows exactly what works, and who will fit the mood of the video. He casts some of the hottest people around. Himself being no exception! It's a big surprise until recently Ruff had not actually appeared as a non directing actor until he was cast in a very hot Quinn Ying production. What have us girl director's been thinking!?
As with other greats on our scene, like Rysan Fall it's not just Ruff's capturing of a perfectly set up scene in second life, or his legendary camera moves, shot selections, angles, and perfect variety and balance of shots. It's also the post production skills and techniques too which can add the final polish to his movies. Often Ruff's visual effects blend so well and fit the scene they can pass you by without you noticing. For me this is the key to a great production, if it flows over you, and does not break the spell, and keeps on letting you enjoy the full sexy experience. This for me is the real clincher. Telling me, and the thousands of others who watch his movies we're seeing something special and rightly, long lasting.
