I SURVIVED THE END OF THE WORLD....

AND I NEVER EVEN GOT A LOUSY T-SHIRT!!!

Serenity at the end of the world. Keep Calm. This never happened! It is clever photo trickery.
Serenity reports from the end of the World!

"It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine." R.E.M

I know i said I've been blogging lately "Like there's no tomorrow!" but apparently it looks like there is! I'm not one for investigative reporting here on the blog. I can confirm though, the world has not ended! ( Remember you heard it here first! )

The world was due to end ( some predicted ) just a few moments ago, December 21st at 11:11am Universal Time. The time the Mayan "Long Count Calendar" reached its end. If you're a blog reader, Keep calm, and remain horny, because nothing bad will happen when our "Holiday Hotness Calender" runs out next week! Apart from no more Holiday Hotness, which is bad, but it'll be replaced by other hot blog content.

I have heard some crazy stories, such as stores in Chechnya running out of candles, as the Chechen President said "Whats candles going to do if the world ends?".

Hotels in a Serbian village being fully booked, due to rumours of a buried UFO in a mountain there saving everybody close by. This rumour most likely started by the Serbian tourist board.

Chinese authorities have detained around 1,000 people as they step up a crackdown against a doomsday cult, and peddlers of "Doomsday" Propaganda DVD's.

In Moscow a Cold War era bunker designed to save Soviet leaders from a nuclear attack will host a 24-hour party for Russians willing to pay $1,000 for a ticket to escape the apocalypse.

The Automobile association in Britain, ( tongue in cheek ) advised motorists to take extra care today, and allow more than the usual time for your journey due to the end of the world.

Of course us Second Life residents shrug off all this stuff. With our region restart days, this all seems pretty trivial and mundane.

So, to cut a long story short, we survived the Apocalypse. The bad news is we have to go Christmas shopping this weekend!

If you want to find out how we came closer to the world ending last week, than this week. Take a look.....

After the Jump!!!

NASA radar took amazing pictures and video of asteroid "Toutatis" as it flew past Earth last Thursday and Friday. Toutatis would cause catastrophic damage if it ever did slam into Earth, potentially extinguishing humanity and many other species.

Toutatis was about 4.3 million miles (7 million kilometers) from Earth, or about 18 times farther away than the moon is.

The asteroid makes one trip around the sun every four years. Its next close encounter with Earth will come in November 2069 ( A great title which I'm calling dibs on for a Sci Fi Porn Movie. ), when the space rock will fly safely by at about 1.8 million miles (3 million km).
