Following the tradition for the premieres from Filthy Penny, we'll start gathering around 7:15 PM SLT for the in-world display of the movie: needless to say, it's a great time to meet the whole crew in charge of some of the most memorable and fetching productions in our industry - and if you don't mind me bringing some cold numbers and hard facts to the table right away, in a production with a cast of 26 (twenty-six!), each of them with active on screen roles, the options and opportunities for partecipation Mitzy offers in this world are umatched especially for those interested in quality. The dances will then officially open at 8 PM, as per our Official Pornstars party schedule, in our usual wholesome environment.
Refreshments will be provided. Clothing is strictly optional - although yes, I know you want to dress up, being a premiere !
Several times in her past movies Mitzy has featured dancing performances, sometimes as welcome intermissions in the plot and a chance to offer a visual spectacle, some other times with the dance itself telling an integral part of the story and acting out a resolution of key parts of the plot, bringing it close to a musical. This time more than any other time, dance is truly the queen of the movie...but of course that's not the only way you will see sexy bodies in motion!
When I had the first chats about this movie, back at the beginning of the summer right on the tail of her previous smashing cinematic effort "Bikini Zone", Mitzy had a slightly different concept and working title for the movie, but the elements were there already, including the great amount of research she was going through centered around dances, different styles of stripping and teasing, which naturally led to the keyword of the title: burlesque.
Much has been written and talked about burlesque, gaining popularity especially in modern times as it would bring out its empowering faculties as an art form: in one of the many clever touches and dashes of the movie, you are even led through some of its story in one of the funniest bits of exposition you'd ever be much pleasantly subjected to in a movie - mh-hm ! To use the famous supposed distinction in the process of storytelling, after this playful deliberate bit of 'tell' (with plenty on display during it), the movie shifts the gear into 'show' presenting brilliant visuals with fully coreographed and staged dancing acts contextualized by an introduction of the performers involved. Their stories being shown through an intimate lens, one way or another - often with the word 'intimate' to be taken in the raunchy way!
I need to get this out of the way and mention the most preminent peformers of the movie right now: the movie title is after all "House of Burlesque", and as I initially mentioned, it's not just any house, but Vinaver's House ! This fictitious establishment is of course a homage to mr. Larry Vinaver himself: at this point in his career, the guy has received pretty much every laud and praise, and demonstrated excellence in his acting roles, no matter how small. Not only the charismatic presence fruit of his work on the SL avatar and the reputation he built is the fil rouge for the movie events, but he also delivers an objectively impeccable vocal performance as MC announcing with gusto the acts on stage. Truly Larry has the temper and vim of the consummate showman and the movie wouldn't have been the same without him .
The theater manager of the Vinaver House of Burlesque is played by Sasha Johansen. Again in virtually every article about Mitzy's production we have the chance to mention her, and the reason is obvious here, so obvious in fact that I'll preface by saying that she looks great in this and she'd belong in here just by virtue of that! But yes, we are almost forced to mention her skills every time, and in a movie based around dances, with 8 distinct dance perfomances, it is pivotal to have proper coreography and music choices, which Sasha excels at.
Mitzy of course brought a great deal of her own movie magic through editing with the right audio cues - there are some routines where the harmony between visuals and music really shows how an eclectic director skillfully mixes up the styles of their filming, and a talent coreographer gives worthy material for the director to film to begin with.
With the two 'main staff' from the Vinaver House of Burlesque out of the way, we are left with the rest of this cast: as usual I won't say much about the plot because I like to let the movie surprise you. There is no major spoiler I am trying to avoid, because this movie lives of suggestions and atmospheres, of homages to different styles of dancing and SL subcultures (as Mitzy often likes to explore) and of all the glamorous titillation Neo-burlesque thrives on. There are a number of acts that we get to see after a proper introduction, and then again there are a number of intermissions that show us how Vinaver House of Burlesque certainly is rich on audience partecipation!
The movie as mentioned has a rich cast of 26 people, all of them getting laid on-screen active roles: even those who are not part of the brilliant stage performance get a round of horizontal tango, superbly shot as it is in Mitzy's movies. Obligatory mention here then to the casting director Rachel Avro, who had to outdo herself with the laborious work of scheduling so many talents, going through plenty of rescheduling and forced recastings as in the nature of SL. Not just that, but also having to go through all the taxing and time consuming parts that help a director's vision to come through, such as reviewing the looks. At least her efforts have been somewhat rewarded with free creampies and a large buffet you can admire in the movie.
In such a composite cast, there has been room for debuts (Alicyn Carling, Kristina Windwright), for some who can be called regulars of Mitzy's productions, some of them showing also amazing versatility in their looks such as Anyka Aiseiri and Yasmine..I mean Vixxen Clowes, and, much to my pleasure, also for some actresses who get comparatively less gigs than their beauty and skills would deserve, such as the lovely Carly Mode and the Partee girl herself !
The movie is a treat for those who admire the art of ballet in SL, where a few incredibly skilled and committed crews put together regularly some unbelievable performances - for a live audience and with no privilege of editing and retakes: Laura Richards and Severina's Debauche comes to mind right away, and it's no accident that Sasha has been a part of the ensemble for half a decade. In this movie, you will find that sort of level of detail, mixed with the unique whimsical touch that a performance meant for the stage brings, where the impossible is brought to life with just a bit of wirework and the right backdrop! ...but as I keep saying ( and how could I not on the Pornstars blog! ) there's also an ungodly amount of hot sex for everyone and everyone's taste, so... If you are not just there to admire the ingenuity of the theatrics, you are welcome to a fapfest like you don't get every day!
Okay, I have covered most of the talking points, and now I defer to you for the viewing points! The runtime of this flick is pretty significant, going at 78 minutes! It's a visual spectacle and the plot itself is loose enough to allow you to watch it in a couple sittings, but I hope to see you at the premiere, starting at 7:15 PM SLT, to watch it along everyone and get involved by the sexiness on screen!
