My first movie 'The Wrong Side Of Town' in 2010. |
The party scene is also extremely active and thriving. Going from impromptu events bringing members together in the early days, to almost daily parties within the group now. Big changes have happened, and keep on happening.
We have many times more people producing content too, with almost four times as many with notice permissions than when i became a owner of The Pornstars group.
My most recent movie in 2015. Maid In The City 2. What's Happened In Between? |
Many people have views of what is the definition of Second Life Porn. What's best? Where should it be heading? Some believe it was better back in the day, when movies ruled the roost. Smaller numbers involved meant the Porn Movie producers and those they cast were the 'Rock Stars' of the scene. Now Movies have been somewhat eclipsed by the Flickr community and erotic photography projects. Is this right or wrong? others are excited and want to be a magazine model, or publisher. We have so many more people active now than the old days. Which direction do they want to head?
Many more people are involved today meaning it's impossible for anybody to be called #1, so many varied projects, so many people are rightly equals to each other, all doing diverse things. I now believe the only way to emerge as a 'Big name In Porn' is simply to stick around, contribute, and get noticed and respected, doing whatever appeals to you the most, longevity will see you become a top name.
To find out what those things are, and what exactly are the Pornstars hopes and dreams, I'm hoping to get a picture of what's hot, and what people like most in Second Life Porn. With a series of polls on the Blog.
I'd also like this opportunity to invite comments on peoples time in porn, their reflections of how they see things, how things have changed, where they think it's going? What would you like to see change? or what would you like to see more of?
Please take part in our first Poll. On the right hand side bar!

you mean you only have a few months on me :P I'll be celebrating my 5th year in our community in September, I am the least stuck up person I know, but sometimes I think I need to pull my head out of my ass, because change is good, I can tell you that back in the day I highly doubt anyone would of come to the rescue of a fellow member in need, I can't express how much love I have for this community and how thankful I am to all of you, there really isn't enough words to show you what you all mean to me, and I have to say that there are some things I liked better back in the day but things change some for the better and I still wouldn't change a damn thing, I would like to see more movies again but that's just cuz it's harder to masturbate to pics then to movies :p Just kidding!! or am I? ok I'll stop rambling now but first one more thing I LOVE this community and there is not a better one anywhere in SL
ReplyDeleteI've been around a lot of different SL communities over the years and my experience suggests to me that the SL Porn Community is the most vibrant. It's seen the most change of any community I have personally been a part. For myself I do not care to think in terms of right or wrong. The 'Cummunity' simply is.Wishing for something, anything, to be something other then it is seems pointless. Just as there are different types of musical expression there are different types of erotic expression. The more expression there is, no matter the format that expression takes, the better for the whole (hole?). My hope for the "Cummunity" is that it continue to grow and expand into any and all forms of Erotic Expression. I genuinely think the world is a better place if the world had more erotica in it and less shame about it. Myself I will continue to make movies and write stories as I cannot for the life of me take an interesting photo. But I do quite enjoy the mountains of mammaries being photographed and posted. So keep up the good works and keep expanding on what erotica means to you.
ReplyDeleteThe number of people doing photography has exploded while movies seems to have turned over.. it's a totally different group of people than what it was just 2 years ago when I started doing movies! Mesh has totally changed everything..
ReplyDeleteI still do my own photography myself (mostly on Saturdays), so it's not that I hold a grudge against anyone doing photography.. I have such a warm place in my heart for movies, maybe it's those old Hollywood dreams of making and starring in movies and hearing from random strangers, "omg you made ____! I love that!" and I made it.. wow!!
I love this community and I wouldn't have it any other way.. well, maybe more ways for people to learn skills and try different styles if they want, but that's another topic..
Ive been a member of the groups for coming on four years now and one of the most important aspects of it to me is the wonderful long term friendships I have made. Other friends have come and gone but what holds the pornstar groups together is working together on projects I believe. Take Bewitched Difference and myself, we have been best friends for almost two years and met though the groups, we love working together and get many of our ideas from random chats and shopping sprees. Not forgetting of course that I met my wonderful Husband Crow at a pornstar party! I think the group has grown so much from just porn when i joined, now the amount of amazing erotic *artists* in the group has blossomed, so much so that I don't feel we are on the fringes of SL life but right out there in front being creative, vibrant and fun!
ReplyDeleteI think that flickr has done amazing things for the photography community in SL, most importantly by the tight networking of friends and friends of friends, exposure is easy and fast. Flickr accounts are fast and painless to create, and everyone has one even if just to post their unedited snapshots in one convenient place. It's very clear that photography has eclipsed movies for this reason more than any other: people will see and have a chance to appreciate the work that you do.
ReplyDeleteMovie production, while rewarding, has much less exposure simply because there is no social media platform that inherently supports the medium, especially not to the ubiquity that flickr has become for photos. The barriers to entry are higher (software, PC capable of recording at high framerate and graphics setting). There are outliers in every case, Miss Emily and the Club Erotique crew for example, but for the majority of people, photography just makes more sense.
