We've had an amazing year on the Pornstars Blog, and in Second Life Porn in general. Of course we featured way too many people, and way too many things to cover it all here now. This is just a brief review of some key events.
Five of our biggest months ever on the blog for traffic came in 2012. With May 2012 being the biggest so far with 62,000 visits. The Pornstars group in Second Life is approaching 2000 members, our Flickr group, "The Sexiest" has passed 1000 members, and over 20,000 uploads too! Second Life Porn is really thriving now in both movies and photography.
If i had to pick the biggest growth area of Second Life Porn, I'd have to say the Flickr uploads have had a huge impact this last year. Which is great news, as it shows even those without maybe the hardware to produce movies are not being put off, and feeling they can rightly contribute and be producers of porn on our scene at the highest profile levels. Photography is a huge part of SL Porn, an art form in it's own right. This is backed up by our very popular Pornstar Gallery features, Sexiest of the day, and photoshoot posts.
Big events this year have contributed to the blog too. Early in 2012 we had our "Oscars" The Sexiest awards for 2011 ( Which are just getting under way now for 2012. ). Emmanuelle Jameson organised an awesome event which was much bigger in scope than the debut awards show, featuring Burlesque dance sets, live music, along with the usual awards ceremony.
We also covered the London Olympics "Pornstar Style" with myself and Emmanuelle posing and snapping some pics to showcase some Olympic inspired blog content.
Recently, the biggest event of the year saw us celebrating the one million views mile stone on the blog. With a movie produced by over a dozen producers, directors, and contributors, starring many names from our scene, in a compilation of million themed movies, and photography. In world we held a huge party which was a lot of fun, and very memorable for me, a great night!
Another huge emergence this year has been the "Pornstars parties". official parties, promoted and blogged have grown to be not just fun events in world for us all to meet up and enjoy ourselves, but serve as the ideal way for newcomers to make friends, make contacts, and launch their porn careers. Any new members feel welcome right away and can see the most positive of sides to our group. I think 2013 is going to see the parties and pornstar gatherings continue to grow and become more fun than ever, with our party planner Moonie at the helm, and party hostess and reporter Keeley too helping to make it all happen.
We've seen some big stars emerge in Second Life Porn. How to be a huge Pornstar in 2013? If you'd like to be it's quite easy. Here are a few pointers.
Look fantastic! Spare no expense, and stand out from the crowd, be yourself, be unique.
The secret has always been, have fun, don't take it too serious. We're not being paid to be Pornstars, so why do it if it's not fun!? The biggest names are always going to be the ones that stick around, make themselves available, the ones seen as being reliable. those seen as the most fun to hang out with, and those putting the effort into their looks and requirements will always get the most shoots and spotlight. Be prepared to do some smaller projects to establish your name though, and prove yourself.
Be patient, attend the parties, get seen, make friends, make contacts, just enjoy it all, and things will happen for you. Remember too Photo shoots, just like RL Porn is a huge deal too, not just movies.
If you can, make the effort to produce your own porn, it's a lot easier to simply cast yourself any time! Pics or movies. Then you open up much, much more, a mutual thing of casting somebody who in turn casts you and then it can all gather pace for you.
Do all that and you'll be a huge name in no time!
