TUTSY WINS UWA MACHINIMA CONTEST!

Huge congratulations to Tutsy Navarathna who recently won the prestigious MachinimUWA contest for the third time running! For his truly amazing, and wonderful 'The Last Syllable of Record Time'. Pixie Rain has a great post with full details on her Blog HERE.

Tutsy entered the world of adult machinima this year, impressing and inspiring many on our scene with his film "MetaSex". Pixie Rain who is also of course familiar to us all in the SL Adult Movie scene won a 'CinemaPop Award of Excellence in Film Narrative 2012'.

Congratulations to you both on this great achievement.

Additionally, Tutsy was also awarded the 'CinemaPop Award of Excellence in Film Direction' and Violette Naidoo's poster for 'The Last Syllable' (pictured above) took 1st place in the UWA Machinima Poster Contest.

ADULT SCENE DIRECTOR'S UWA ENTRY : Pixie's Fwd: Evolution.

Pixie Rain's : "Fwd: Evolution"

Entry for the University of Western Australia's "MachinimUWA V - Seeking Wisdom" competition.

This is a non adult film. However we've always supported our adult directors here entering the UWA Machinima contest. Last time around, Bert Jedburgh, Pel Beaton, and Scooby Mode all submitted entries, and were covered here on the blog.

This time, we have Pixie Rain. Who is of course one of the most talented movie makers to work in the adult genre. Doing what she does best with her usual class and artistic style. Fwd: Evolution is a superb movie, superbly titled too, as it aptly describes the journey you'll embark on when you watch this film.

A Cybernetic Shamen and Cybernetic Dancer travel through space, time and the inner dimensions in the search for wisdom...

Some wonderful imagery and some thoughtful content mean i enjoyed watching several times for very different reasons. You should listen, watch, and absorb the movie in order to get the full effect and the Directors message. Also on later viewings you can, as i described to Pixie yesterday when we spoke "take a magic carpet ride", and just let the scenes and images flow past you. I think probably John Lennon put it best "Switch off your mind, relax and float down stream".

The film does indeed take you on a journey, and it feels like a literal one, as Pixie's editing and filming techniques really take you on a flight through the movie's entire length, always going forward, always evolving. Look out for the Cybernetic Shamen, who can be seen throughout, white rabbit like!

We wish Pixie all the best for the UWA Awards. Machinima of this stature from artists involved in the adult scene can only help gain respect for some of the wonderfully produced adult content which gets released by others too. Much of which fully deserves praise by a wider machinima loving audience.

PORNSTAR VETERAN TAKES UWA CONTEST PLUNGE

Another Pornstar Director, Pelon Beaton has entered the UWA Machinima contest. We're supporting every director from our scene who takes the plunge and tries to get out of their comfort zone, leaving naked girls and guys behind and swapping pose balls for stunning Sim settings and outside the box movie making for this prestigious Machinima contest.

Better known for his porn photography and movies, pel beaton leaves his comfort zone for the UWA Contest.

Pel has entered no less than two movies so far. In a move which i think will develop his movie making across the board. In the first entry "The Explorer" we see a man who sets sail in his yacht dreaming of exploring the world like the ancient vikings. In the second, "Mayans" he's searching for the god's and his princess among a wonderful Mayan Sim with some wonderful views captured along the way.

Mayans in 2012, will be very topical! Potentially the last topic ever!

I hope we'll see some more Pornstar director's trying their hand at mainstream, creative Machinima. It is tough, and our directors should be congratulated for trying. When you remove the sex from our movies you begin to see the challenge ahead for creating a winning project.

Movie Review : Treasure by Bert Jedburgh

Bert Jedburgh Directs and Stars in this stunning contest entry.

Pornstar Director Bert Jedburgh is set to do the SL Porn community proud at the December UWA Machinima Contest. Having watched his entry into the contest i was so impressed and i hope it can inspire many directors on our scene both in porn and Machinima in general.

Krystall Pearl and Kai Baby show their whole skill set! Not just a pretty face..and a hot body!

The movie itself is not erotic, or a porn movie, however it features well known and popular actresses and actors from the SL adult movie scene. Such as Krystall Pearl, Scooby Mode, Nomad Nobilis, and the stand out actress to emerge in SL Porn this year Kai Baby! Of course the man himself, Bert Jedburgh too!

For me "Treasure" continues technically, and artistically from Bert's adult movie "Meow". Although it's a completely different kind of film, Bert was giving us hugely impressive cinematic views in Meow, and that has evolved into the amazing movie we see here.

All action Scooby Mode!

Treasure is a true exhibition of editing, and photography. At a glance you can see he has truly directed this movie in every sense of the word, from choreographing movements of the actors, to planning out the stunning visuals. From his sweeping camera pans and the well captured city scapes of the "Syn City" Sim. To the text book editing where Bert edits his action to the audio spikes in the stirring movie soundtrack. Ensures it has a professional big movie trailer feel and atmosphere throughout.

I wish Bert all the best in the UWA machinima contest. He really has done our scene proud. I could have gone on and on writing about this movie. The screen caps feature Pornstar's, but there was so much to see, and the movie so fluid and well edited it's impossible to capture in a few screen shots. So please....
