So many people out there take pictures in sl .. we are all at different levels and we all have our own style. I have had alot of people over time say they want to but not sure where to start and or just take a pic and might need some work. So i thought best way to do this is to look at different peoples ideas or thoughts of what they do..
I know for myself i am always learning... and i have one main style most are use to seeing me do wich trys to give a realistic look with a softness to it.. to do this i have to use 2 different editing sites for my photos.
I use Paint.net for the softening part of my pics which also gives them that almost realistic coloring with the skins. The other program i use is photoscape both of these are free online. Everything i do and or use is play around with the pics and trial and error..

http://strawberrysingh.com/ on her blog under the tutorials... there are some great learning tools for new photographers from windlight settings to cleaning up your photos for beginners and taking high res snapshots for intermediate users... DEFF worth taking a look at.
One thing to think about is angles and poses and i had Keeley Snowfall talk about some tips she had on that..
Well I'm sure you all thinking "I know how to take a picture, so there is no need to read this" Well I'm not telling you how to take one, just giving you a few tips and pointers on what I do when taking picture's, which might give you a new things to try with yours.
For me when doing a photo shoot, I prefer the natural lighting you get when on a open sim and using the wind light setting you have picked. You don't get the same kind of lighting when in a studio, you end up having to use fake lighting from projectors. Also make sure your model isn't wearing a face light.
The first thing I like to do is to pick a pose before positioning them in the place I want them, as when you look at the pose, it might give you an idea to place them in a different spot than you were going to at first.
When looking for a good angle of a picture, don't always make the model then central focal part of your picture, have them to one side so you bring more of the surrounding area into the picture. It brings more atmosphere into the picture I find. And I know we are in porn, but close up shots are not really that good I find in less it's done right. Like maybe in a P.O.V aspect
If your lucky enough to be able to move your models eye's, move them to a spot where you think they look best with the pose they are in, whether that's looking at the camera or away from it. I've not tried it when using a sex animation, just with single static poses.
I guess the finally thing to say would be, don't just take one picture of each pose, take several and from different angels. As you might find you have one better than the one you were going to go for.

Another great way to take photos.. is in world photos with no photoshopping... we all know Graham Collinson is awesome at doing these.. i actually had a lesson with him one day on what he does... but still
have this urge to do my own thing with my pics with using a few of his lesson. But i did talk to him for some advice for this post..
- Focus on the object. The background isnt usually very interesting. Make sure you zoom in plenty. Sometimes placing the object in the side of the pic, and maybe not show all of the arms or legs can add an element of movement which I enjoy doing.
-If you dont have the graphics on max, it can be useful to wear a facelight. I know they are hated by many, but to highlight the face is kinda vital on portraits. If you run on ultra and have shadows on, take facelights off.
- Make sure the background isnt "messy". A simple background that doesnt take away attention from the object makes a pic better in my opinion. Less is more:)
- If you are exploring or somewhere where there is flowers, grass and stuff like that, try to use it. If you zoom into the grass and moves the cam you might get some very interesting angles. All light can be used to soften and add something to a pic too. I used to work a lot with rays earlier.
- If you enjoy taking pics, getting a hud that you can fill with poses and pose others with can be a neat thing to get. I have a hud from Poseanywhere which costs 650Ls, but well worth it if you enjoy taking pics on SL.

I also decided to talk to someone a bit newer on the sl porn photo scene.. her pics have been seen on the blog so i decided to ask Lou Moonlight if she had anything to share...
Well.... So I am really a newbie at SL photography..... but I really enjoy it a lot.... It is not necessary to have a brand new graphic card and all fancy programs to make decent pic... What is most important (at least to me) is to find an original idea and a good angle... Then because I am not an expert or a rich person I use free online photo editors like Picmonkey (http://www.picmonkey.com/).
Also because it is SL and the angles and curves are not very smooth I use the liquify tool from Photoshop (the CS2 version is available for free on the Adobe website)... This was probably the best advice I got from my friend Mirko when I first started to do pics.
In the end, it is a lot about experimenting... trying... erasing... trying differently and so on until YOU are satisfied with your work and then publish it. Its a lot about patience really... You can also type SL photography tips on google and you will find great blogs and tutorials with specific explanations...
My favorite pic is this one... I know its lacking shadows but sadly my graphic card is not recent enough for me to ever see them... so I do without... I hope you enjoy!
