A VERY DIFFERENT SEXIEST® AWARDS SHOW

A quick word about the judging of THE SEXIEST® Awards: Different.

Different categories. Different judges. Different point of view.
I think it's going to be really exciting.


A big part of the reason is that October Bettencourt will be our Head Of Judging. She's a skilled photographer, model and heads her own fashion brand. She's not only smart and artistic, she's also one of the most energetic people I know.

October also has connections to amazing people that aren't just in our group. All she's told me so far is that she has a full panel of judges and some of them are famous in SL. It will be fun to see the fresh perspective that they bring to our work. And it will be great to see how our work inspires them.

I'm also excited that Photography is a part of the show this year. We've wanted to hold a photography awards show for over two years. And now it's finally happening!!

There's so many talented people in our group. To see all this creativity come together is very exciting.
If you're thinking of entering, i hope you do.

It's a great celebration of the work you all do here.

A PERSONAL HOLIDAY FAVORITE

It's not a very sexy pic. But sometimes a work of art just hits you hard and you have to say something.

I wanted to thank the great Laura Demonista for making this very beautiful and thought provoking photo.

The contrast with the woman who has nothing and the expensive shopping bag just told such a powerful story.

Its my favorite card of the holidays so. And it made me donate to a local food bank. Which made me feel good.

50 MILLION FACEBOOK USERS ARE BOTS

A fake Facebook bot that recently tried to friend reporter Hamlet Au

Remember when Facebook had its witch hunt for SL avis!!

Well a report in New World News by Hamlet Au just said that Facebook may have 50 Million fake users.

According to Hamlet, "That's more fake people than the entire population of South Korea, or the populations of Greece, Cuba, Portugal, Sweden, and Israel combined."


It seems to be "Bot Week!"

The US soccer team had an amazing game yesterday.
The star was Alex Morgan who won the game in the last second.

SECOND LIFE PASSES 2 BILLION HOURS

Linden CEO Phillip Rosedale announced recently that Second Life passed 2 Billion hours in views.

Hamlet Au's New World Notes put those hours into prespective!

• 2 billion total user hours translate to 228,310 total years of Second Life usage.
• About 20 million people have tried Second Life so far. So 2 billion user hours averages out to 100 hours per user -- i.e. 5 days in Second Life.
• SL surpassed 1 billion user hours in September 2009, which took six years from its Summer 2003 launch to reach, so it took only 3 years to add one billion more

TODAY'S GOLD MEDAL IN SEXY: Daniela Hantuchova,

This weekend they gave out all the Gold Medal for tennis. Except one.

The Gold Medal in Sexy for today goes to tennis star Daniela Hantuchova, who was recently featured on the cover of ESPN's THE BODY issue nude.

She should have tried playing naked. Betting she would really distract her opponents.

Aparently the Lindens are cracking down on Traffic Bots.

So it will be interesting to see which of these stay in the Top 50 next month.
