A Sexiest® Movie Premiere: Quarantena

We truly live in interesting times, and if there is a genre of entertainment who is known to stay on top of the news and tackle any kind of subject, often from unusual angles, that is... porn movies, of course! It was only a matter of time then before we'd cover some SL adult movie about the most significant event of 2020 (besides Kanye running for President). But don't let this theme scare you off: we're in SL and we do not need to practice social distancing. In fact I am inviting you to a PARTY today Saturday 18th, a MOVIE PREMIERE!

We'll start gathering around 7:15 PM SLT for the first display in-world of QUARANTENA, the newest Filthy Penny Production from Rude Runner Studios. Of course it means it is a Mitzy Broadway movie. Mitzy has been one of the brightest stars on the porn scene not just for the obvious top quality of her filming, but also for her embracing the star system playful dynamic that helps having a 'porn scene' to begin with. The party will then begin with DJ Zuby Gloom at the console. Late entrants will get the chance to watch the movie of course: don't worry about it, as obviously these parties are meant to essentialy celebrate the efforts of the filmaker, staff and cast. And...to meet them and who knows, be part of their next effort!

Because the movie is again a group effort. Starting with Mitzy' staff (executive director Heather Ashford and casting director Rachel Avro) and with everyone on the roster as on screen talent, plus the golden voice of the one and only mr. Rysan Fall. What IS this movie about though? The COVID-19 emergency is no laughing matter, but porn is known for not shying away from any topic in a liberating, apotropaic fashion. Is this movie then a little bit of a farce where people play doctor and crack some topical joke while jumping at the chance to get people to boink, perhaps wearing some misplaced protective gear? Actually, not quite! Sorry, no hazmat suit shagging, fellas. But here's the good news...

As usual I don't want to read deeply into a porn movie script and give myself through my interpretation of the material more 'importance'. It's a super enjoyable porn movie with some of the best visuals that Mitzy put together. Mitzy has been doing some truly majestic and visionary set and costume design in the past, while this is set in our reality and time. However, the focus is truly on the bodies, the lighting, the mood: dealing with a material so close to home made the camera explore the sensuality and the intimacy. A sense of fonder rather than wonder.

The story is simple: in a way there is none, since through the fil rouge of the radio speaker voiced by Rysan the movie explores the way different people around the world deal with the isolation dictated by the safety precautions. We have two people from different walks of life living on opposite sides of the same street in Manhattan, a couple frustrated by the lack of access to Miami Beach, a couple in London dealing with distance regulations in the kitchen, two women having a wild time in lockdown during a safari in South Africa, and finally a sax-and-sex time at the imaginary adult resort "Quarantena" on the Tuscany coast.

To put it simply: the movie is beautiful on many levels. Aesthetically as I already mentioned, but also for its ability to be tactful in its brazen porny handling of the subject matter. It's easy to make a 'porn parody' of anything, it is much harder to depict situations that evoke real intimacy, quirks and deep needs of human beings forced in a less than optimal situation but that go ahead living their lives - particularly beautiful in this sense the first episode, featuring Heather Ashford and Damien Godard in a relationship not physically consummated, and the last one, with Mitzy and Max in the quintessential erotic/exotic dream setting.

Every episode shows a subtly different aspect of human nature and relationships, does it gracefully and sensuously, it has plenty moments that make you smile, even more than flat out arouse, and has a positive and hopeful message even throughout the occasional melancholic moment - and all of this without trying to drive anything home heavily. It has one of the best ending sections too - which may seem surprising since I said that there's no real 'story' - even if Mitzy and Rysan do give continuity to segments. The various characters get to have a very fitting curtain call through mock videos of popular social networks. The 'backstage' feature contributes to the intimate and personal focus on the characters.

There would still be plenty more to say, especially in a movie like this with no large group scenes and with so much screen time and close attention to the various characters, but as usual, watching the movie is the best tribute to this effort. In the bustling world of adult machinima, we always welcome with passion every event that helps putting the crowning touches to the remarkable effort that every video production in SL represents.
And without a doubt every Filthy Penny Production shines for both the quality and quantity of work that preceed a release, and the efforts made to make a 'world premiere' a special event.

Every time we had chances in the past to talk about 'A Max Long movie', we talked about finely crafted movies. Great cinematography all around, but also visually inventive and with so much original content. Impeccable scenography and ofter original voice acting, all at the service of unique plots. I already declared my passion for a controversial movie like Minotaur, and with the dream-like Rosse Buurt and a whole playful history of porn with shades of Kubrik as precedents, can Mitzy Broadway surprise us again?



You'll find your answer later today at 6:30 PM SLT with the premiere at Hard Alley for Lust , the latest Filthy Penny Production. The movie cites Dante's Inferno from the credits. The famous italian poem has a sure influence in the themes and setting that open the movie, but is mere inspiration for an original story written by Mitzy herself. A story that retains its epic-fantasy roots but stirs it shifting to hardboiled Frank Miller inspired atmospheres.



I have to say, her IMs from the set and when the movie was still just on the drawing board would deserve to be transposed in production diaries. Her flow of creativity is one to behold and you could tell from her vision so passionately put in words , how this movie was going to have the now patented  Mitzy ambition and back it up with a well produced coral effort.



About that: the cast of this production is formed by Mitzy Broadway, Max Long, Rachel Avro, Noshinima Midas, Jack Stroker, Heather Ashford, Peter Moore, Jagger Draconis, Marcus Castillo, Vicki Concertina, myself, Larry Vinaver, Laren Silverfall, Stevie Viper, Kandie Kox. Peter Moore deserves credit for the sound department, as usual. The movie provides original voiceovers by professionals, with Mitzy's original script.



What else can I add? One thing is to hear an intriguing story, another one is seeing it come to life through SL, and despite being updated constantly about the movie from its inception, throughout often minute details such as the 'anatomically correct' architecture in some scenes, none of that detracted from the sense of wonder you get seeing a movie like this.
It was obviously a pleasure to be part of it.

We have a saying in Italy translating roughly as "Do not shoot on the Red Cross", meaning to not take aim at easy targets. I won't! So..

What I will most definitely do, though, is to tell you to grab the Euro 2016 Xtra issue of Brit-X, also called "Issue 13B". Having been spoiled by the latest issues and the fantastic quality and variety of pictorials, models featured, photographers and different features such as Laredo's '5 questions',you may see this themed special might as a little lighter in size than the normal Brit-X, and it is labeled 13B rather than a proper issue 14.

You can see how the quality of women soccer is sharply improving, and with babes like Paige, ratings will too!

Like I said, it's just because Kat and Laredo have spoiled us rotten! The issue has seven photoshoots, and I'd gladly show you at least one photo from all of them because their quality deserves it. Featuring the Brit-X girls Holly Arkright, Paige Snowpaw, Roxxxy Foxdale (twice over) and Kat Kassner herself, plus from the great city of Belgium Leffe Levenque and from the boot of Europe another Kat, this issue is a must-have.

Yes the football theme can sometimes make these 'special's look outdated as the competition progresses (although most of the teams mentioned did pass the turn....well, a couple exceptions)

Wanna Flick? Beachin' Around

Movie time! Yes, that's my intro. Moving on...

Ahh, I hadn't covered in a while the whimsical adventures of the cutest couple in SL adult movies, and today I am focusing on the latest from Dillon and its prequel (more than 'prequel', I should say 'the part of the saga I did not make a post about before').

Both taking place as you can see in a lens-flare scorched Surfers' Bay, The Beach 2 and 3 are delightful Production D porn videos that after the suave first episode take the familiar direction of pure divertissment to the sound of all time pop hits. Those hits that just won't leave you alone after a single listening.

As usual, Dillon envisions his movies with himself and his arm candy Carly Mode as protagonists, but ups the porn ante by featuring at least one other pair of warm bodies. It's the case of Carla Draesia and Damien Godard in The Beach 2, and Rachel Avro and Rachel Swallows in The Beach 3.

While the point of attraction of both movies is certainly within Dillon and Carly's actions and extended sex scenes, it's always good to see the effort Dillon puts to involve different actors and enrich with moar sechs and locations the movie. Carly looks always superb in her outfits, as Dillon (but don't tell him).

As I already said, both movies are fun, unique and so full of fun like the earworm tracks they are built upon. With The Beach 2, Dillon jacquestati-es his way through a beach, past uninhibited bathers, ending up with his peen in the mouth of a mermaid, in the second whackiest use of Cher's Shoop Shoop Song I can think of...

And in The Beach 3, they rollick to the tunes of 'My oh My' by Aqua, in a video with much better acting, production value and asses than the original. Ok that is not saying much, I know.

Both movies also make good use of animal co-stars, two out of three uncredited, all of them unharmed (the fireworks were added in post production).  We on the Pornstars blog find only fair to give such gentle innocent creatures due mention.

Besides the choices of fun themes and lighthearted tone, Dillon has perfected a directing style that works wonders with the score. Every actor involved in a Dillon movie is going to have a good time on set, and end up looking good in the actual product, so, by all means, mission accomplished!

There would be a lot more to say about the two movies, from my personal experience on the set, about details like the very creative (and awww so sweet) credits in Beach 2 and the tie-in with the work from the wonderful Carly, but all this post wants to do is to tell you to watch them, give some feedback to Dillon, and hopefully have fun watching at least half much as fun as it was for everyone involved to make them!
