Another Anniversary! It's great to see magazine I begun covering last year, make it halfway through this new one and going strong! Wait, damn, we are nearly halfway through the year? That's depressing... Well so we're talking about...

Well damn it, of COURSE Playhouse had to have a bigger and kinkier anniversary issue. Over 500 pages, by dawg! After the wunderous Brit-X special, here's this post featuring another magazine, quite different in size, scope, way they operate. I interviewed the owner on their very first issue, and now it's my pleasure to let her do the talking again, because, who better than her can tell us why she does it and how? There you have it, an interview with JazmynCrystalStorm !

- First and foremost, congratulations for your anniversary issue! One year of Playhouse. How are you feeling?

" Oh thank you so much! Wow...how to put it? Excited? Numb? Surprised? Horny?
Just kidding... It is a bit surreal."

- More to the point, what do you think of this journey so far?

" Like anything you do in life, things that come easy don't seem to be appreciated as much. This journey has been all as challenging as I imagined when I started. I think I appreciate where we are and from where we started, but I also know we have a long way to go to reach the level of excellence I expect."

- Do you think the magazine has evolved in some aspects compared to the first issue?

"Oh absolutely! I looked back at our first issue just the other day and was so critical of what we did. Sure, there were parts that made me smile. Then I saw so many things I wished I had done over."

- What is the best Playhouse-related memory of the year, and if you wish to share, what is the worst?

"For me personally? Being able to celebrate the life of a great friend and amazing heroine in real life. Dedicating an issue to our Nurse Carrie who lost her courageous battle with cancer. In many ways it was our highest moment and our saddest."

- How do you choose the models for each issue, and how long does it take for you to plan and do the shoots you personally conduct? If possible, tell us something about each of the models of this issue: why they here and why are they worth checking out.

"The selection process for each issue is actually the most difficult aspect.: It is a look, a feel, an intuition. There are SO many gorgeous avatars out there. I meet 15 to 25 new faces each month. I do my best to try and shoot them all, usually 30-40 pictures. A typical session takes an hour or two. Sometimes I get referrals from the other amazing photographers in Second Life. The centerfold and cover girl is selected by the monthly contest.

I guess I heard crazier rumours...

For this current issue we got lucky! Pet of the Month Kiara (kiaraslet) is one of the MOST beautiful avatars we have ever seen. She debuted in the previous issue and her popularity has skyrocketed. She has made many appearances in other publications as well.

Sunday Whitewood is one of Adults most exciting photographers and models. Clare Demonge (clare1.destiny) is another breathtaking vision and very serious about becoming better every day. Carly Rayne (carly.juanos) walked into our studios as a referral from one of the Gods of Photography - Graham Collinson. Carly became a spokesmodel and our Event Director and Manager. Then gemm Diesel. Wow, that girl. One look into her eyes and you are stunned. Wouldn't you know it, she was just voted the June Pet of the Month! So, yeah....lucky! "

- Besides the ones who appeared in this issue, would you like to acknowledge any of the models in particular that made their appearance throughout the year and that impressed you ?

"Every one! ha ha! Ok, you put me on the spot and I apologize to every model i miss! You all can spank me later. Luna (chynnes) our first who unfortunately is no longer in Second Life. She was the ground breaker. Cherish Sky our second Pet another breathtaking model who used this platform to go into High Fashion modeling. Dakota Amore, the Pet of the Year for 2016. Dakota has been off with some personal surgeries in real life but will be back to assume her role. Michaela Vixen (vampbait69) set a new bar.

Mich came in and was so hot and her talents for photography took PLAYHOUSE to a new level. She shot the first 4 centerfolds this year. She has helped me to become a better photographer as well. Mich is also off on some medical leave but I spoke to her today and she is recovering. I could name every model we ever had. We have had some stellar celebrity guests as well. Rachel Avro, Partee, Jenny Starveling... the list goes on."

- I am interested to know if you have plans to change anything for the next year, but actually, even more interested in what will -not- change about the magazine. What are the strongest points of Playhouse in your mind, what can people expect to find reading, or appearing, in Playhouse?

" For the most part the only change I envision is to improve on the 'Polished' appearance of each issue. As we evolve things improve. What won't change is the drive we have to produce a exciting erotic adventure each month. We hope to continue debuting fresh faces and giving women a chance to succeed. We plan on doing more 'Couples based" shoots and for the ladies, I envision doing a full spread with a man. It is going to be something. I am DEFINITELY doing that shoot myself!

One of our newest Spokesmodels, Nexxka, presented an idea to us. She described a contest for $1000 Linden mnimum to have fans, photographers, anyone submit their best Selfie. We thought WOW great idea! We will print the best of the best and of course the Winner. We are anxious to see the response. One other thing in the works is a 'Girls of Second Life MC's' Ember Wulluf is helping me with the groundwork for this project. I think that will be fun also."

Oh look who I forgot in - both- my May the 4th posts....Jazmyn, at Pleasure Station 69!

I thank very much Jazmyn for being so kind and diligent in her answers. As you read in her answers, there are interesting opportunities for every aspiring model and for photographers too to be noticed. Through this year, Playhouse has featured a variety of models Jaz reminded you about in one of her answers.

Peeking at the magazine's pages, thanks to its policy of publishing quite 'natural' shoots without the embellishment of substantial editing, photographers and filmakers can easily spot new and interesting models having a solid idea of how they would look. And also know that they had at least some experience in the business, and in case of the Pet of the Month, certainly driven to succeed, with a fanbase and with a will to invest (time, if not actual resources) in it.

This time Playhouse's page count clocks in at 469: I think we could make it a party game or something, trying to guess the foliage of the next issue, approximated to the closest dozen. Month after month, Jazmyn's publication gives an opportunity, often to absolute newcomers, to be featured in lenghty photosets, and even be a covergil. Like in the case of the barely two-monther Kiara, seen in this issue in a photoshoot and set to be in the next issue as Pet of the Month, after emerging on top of the monthly contest the magazine is based on.

The 'new' people that get this kind of exposure are obviously going to relish this chance to Oh Em Gee, be in a magazine, and this month was the turn, amongst the other models getting their break, of Michelle Deveraux Hastings (Mdevereaux), Tatusia Zabawka (tatusiu) and the aforementioned Kiara (Kiaraslet).

SL wins once more, no RL magazine has ever had a true elf on the cover! except maybe Barry Manilow. But it was nothing erotic. Luckily.

"Together with my zealous staff, we did our best to follow your feed-back requests. I will take this opportunity to thank you for contacting us, and encourage you to keep doing that in the future. We are here for you, and we want to make a magazine that you like to read."

That's part of the opening statement from the owner of the magazine Edvard Taurion, wishing everyone cheerful festivities in the month of St. Patrick's day and of course, Easter. Words simple enough, but not simply words when you look back at the growth of this young magazine from one issue to the next.



Everyone deserves a praise for this magazine, including the person who waters the plants!

A steady growth that sees the magazine showcase more and more quality content creators, from the traditional adult animation and furniture designers that are the bread and butter of Edvard Taurion' SL business, to the quality home and decor designers and clothing makers attracted to the magazine by its definite 'mainstream' appeal that trascends 'porn'. "We want to reach all parts of SL", the Executive Editor of the magazine Athena told me, and since she didn't follow that statement with improper fondling of my private ones, I think she really meant the potential audience!

There's probably a joke in there to be made about Irishmen and policemen, but fill in the blanks yourselves!

And that's without mentioning the location reports that have been prominently featured in the past issues already, and that in this new instance of the magazine see the addition in the staff of the very well known Isle Biedermann, who doesn't spend his day just taking pictures of a famous mulberry coloured club, but displays his talent outdoors, in a photoset just perfect for st. Paddy.

I know that of course the readers of the Pornstars blog are not here to watch the grass grow, but magazines like SL Connoisseur are a perfect vehicle for you to see your raunchy photographers and super-sexy models (and you know how often the two aspects overlap) putting their skills and passions to fruition for other aspects of SL than sex. In this issue, you'll get to see guest modeling in fashion shoots and location shots Lacey Nora, Sandy Miggins, Tisha Carlfield, Jon Demen, you'll read interviews by the already mentioned Edvard and Isle, the always hard working editor Athena, and fashion from Michaela Vixen and last month's centerfold Parthenea.

Need to get in your Valentine mood? I know what you need ! You need to check out this issue of...

Maybe I am biased, but certainly this issue spells out 'Valentine's day' from its cover. For anyone who knows the gorgeous Partee and had chances to be in touch with her heartwarming cheerfulness and positivity, she is indeed a really inspired choice for the day of the lovers. And the photospread by Cream Release that you will find inside is one of those perfect storms of photographer talent and model pulchritude that would sell a magazine on its own.

Jezzi gets wet in this issue, but so will YOU! 

And that without forgetting the other model showcased in the issue, in the 'Pet of the month' spread by Athena. After Yana Grau in the past issue, another beauty who doesn't get nearly as much exposure as she could, the sensual Jezzi Mornignton.
Connoisseur is a lifestyle magazine full of useful shopping tips and valuable information about what is at work behind the popular items of popular designers, but prides itself to have quality photography, and this issue certainly does its best to prove it.

Because seriously, look at her!

With just 2 main modeling spots, the 'competition' to be a centerfold in Cream's pics or a 'pet of the month' in Athena's shoots is certainly going to be fierce. Friendly competition, of course, right? The magazine is obviously interested in giving the right coverage and exposure to its models, starting of course with the centerfold models, usually established personalities of the adult scene with their own projects and endeavours to promote (try to forget for a moment I was one too!). So many options, so much to take into consideration when putting a quality product together. The certainly approachable mr. Taurion is very much avalaible to listen to the suggestions and proposals of the readers, many of which are aspiring models, we know that! Keeping everyone happy is of course impossible, but as a fellow magazine editor, I can only say "We try! Be patient!".



SL Connoisseur has some Naughty readers, but so romantic too!


Have I got you interested enough with the photos? Well, the entire magazine of course has a rich package of photos, starting with the readers' submission for Valentine, continuing with the interviews conducted by Edvard Taurion himself (including a MUST read one with Eve Light from Smooching Serpents), Michaela Vixen, Athena, with support photos by Michaela and Athena themselves, and Racheal Rexen. That's what the Playhouse owner, editor and lead photographer JazmynCrystalStorm posted, and no surprise, this issue hits the newstands (with devastating momentum due to its brick-like thickness) bringing its patented brand of pictorials. Which feature a lot of beauties, starting of course from the latest ultimate winner of that very contested competition that leads to the obviously quite coveted 'Pet of the Month' spot! So, big congrats to Lacey Nora for getting your face (so to speak) on the cover...!




Is it hot in here or is it me?


....and to all the other girls featured here, including but not just another quite known face in porn, Jesse Jane, and the work of Jazmyn and of the photographer responsible for Lacey's centerfold, Michaela Vixen, who has collaborated this month (which is February, even if it's January still...ahhh i confuse myself!) also with Edvard Taurion's SL Connoisseur magazine. And again, not to get ahead of myself, but also in Connoisseur you will find an interview, by Michaela, with one of the models of this issue. And what a model she is!

Her name is Kyndred Kamala, and I need to pass her the virtual microphone a second now because she is not just a bombshell of a model in this issue , but also played a big role in the Playhouse Family!

- How did you become involved with Playhouse?

"Well, my partner and I started The Phoenix Society awhile back. We wanted a place for people to go hang out... couples.. singles too.. people that have an updated appearance...mesh bodies and such... So we started it out as invite only. When we went out, if we saw sexy classy avs that we liked to look at :P we'd say hi, explain the club to them and offer an invite... so its slowly growing the group.

Ryan my partner met Jazymyn one night while he was out roaming around - she was talking about her magazine.. he said hi - she's a crazy girl...lol and he showed her Phoenix, which she loved, and asked us if she could do photo shoots there. We thought it would be beneficial to us both: for us, exposure to the club and new areas for her magazine shoots.
Then she offered an area at her sim for me to put a satellite store at -(I make clothes /shoes for mesh bodies) and in doing that and trying to get the store to look right we offered to redo her sim for her. Some people just have a knack for landscaping and design, which my partner Ryan does, and he loves to do it - she was so nice about putting so much info about us in her magazine, we thought we'd help her out and try to reduce some prims and make her sim a little more aesthetically pleasing.



It has nuts and cream, but I never got a praline like that! Great gift, but try keeping the lid on the box ....

- Do you also enjoy being a model yourself , and photography?

"Oh I love photography - I dont think I've ever spoken in the pornstars group even once but there are so many amazing photogs in there... they just blow me away so I like to see what everyone is posting. I take photos of my products I make: they aren't terrible, lol, but I learn alot watching all the people in that group and following their flickr... I've not really been much of a model.. although I was in Aroused once. :) But its fun!"

Well, what a happy event to meet a long time lurker in the pages of the magazine, and the good things come in pair, I guess! I am not quite sure he could fit it on his sled, to be honest. This thing is big! With about 570 pages (!!!), this magazine already costed a fortune just in upload fees! Handle it with care. Especially because if you drop it, it might break your foot.

No, this was not the last picture even taken of Bee, even if she is surrounded by godless killing machines.

Ribbing aside, Playhouse of course couldn't let his December issue be anything but special, and it is indeed an issue in full festive mood from beginning to end. The owner Jazmyn Storm as usual put plenty of work in this pet (literally!) project of hers, with the astonishing number of pictures coming from the lenghtiest photoshoots in the biz distrubuted in over a dozen of models featured.

The inspiration for Playhouse is well known, and it's nice to see the 'pet of the month' format in full swing, with many winners from the past months making an appearance to 'host' the magazine introducing the shoots. Of course I am going to point out here the partecipation of Sexiest Pornstars group members such as BeeQueen Smythe, Jenny Starveling, Michaela Vixen (vampbait69), Paige (itsmepaige), and of course, Partee and her arse!

Well...imagine finding THAT under your tree. Yes, you have to imagine having a tree that big first, ok...

Not to be redundant or anything, but this magazine is really huge! A big congratulations to Jazmyn for carrying an ambitous project on her sensual shoulders, and her Pet of The Month contest certainly draws attention and competition. If you like what you see in the magazine and you are interested , you definitely should contact her.
