It crept up on us, Fall is here! With a new month, here you have also a new issue of...
SL Connoisseur
Edvard Taurion's magazine has been an important showcase to a variety of products I'll quickly allude to - after all, as we often mention, the whole magazine project comes from Ed's well known review blog and is a natural extension of it - but, more into our blog's area of interest, has been showcasing the beauty and talents of many members of our adult arts community.
Jadelyn's beauty is as intoxicating as my lines are cheesy, almost!
Once again in this issue the work of Leannan McCormick ( Sufferingfrom Lockjaw ) stands out, both for quantity and quality. Not just she once more she assembled the much coveted location report article, but hers are also both pictorials of the beauties of the month: the delightful covergirl Sandy Miggins, very much in her element posing for saucy photos in the kitchen, and the pet of the Month, life and soul of the Hard Alley party events, Jadelyn McAuley.
Niki's interviews really bring the product into focus
And Jadelyn brings to this issue not just her pretty face (and lovely jubblies) but also a neat interview with none other than Nicasio Ansar, covering his work as clothing designer. Interviews are a strong feature of this issue without a doubt, thanks also the work of Niki Cole (nicolabcole). Niki already proved in the past issue to be a valuable addition to the staff, and in this October issue she seems to have really gotten into her stride, with two interviews with valuable and well known designers, in a stylish presentation.
Many in the porn world are familiar with Nica - especially his dreamy sim, already featured in SLC
I cannot help but be a little bit partial to some of those involved, as it usually happens when you see friends in the mix, but that aside, it truly is a well put together issue.
It wouldn't be SL Connoisseur without Edvard's direct contribution on product showcases (with a particular eye to Halloween -gosh it's already almost time for that!), and without Kristina Deschanel's party photos, the bit that makes SL Connoisseur for sure the most 'interactive' magazine on the scene when it comes to the chances to appear in it: show up for the party today, and you'll be there! Perhaps even as the sole attraction of the Party Star pictorial, like it happened to The Nurse (Gingerlex Resident)
It's almost a binary star, with Doc-torr's many attempts at photobombing!
Do you need to know when the party is? But of course it's today Thursday October 5, at 11 AM SLT, at the usual venue, with Leannan capping the ample contribution to the magazine with her entertaining dj set http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/ADRENALINA/207/113/3502
So, check the magazine out here https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SL-Connoisseur-Magazine-October-2017/12869092 , come over and enjoy. Be a part of it!
And if you'd like an opportunity to be a part of this blog with your work, feel free to contact me and plan an article!

Intergalactic SLUTS: Promoted
Of course it's a pleasure to talk today about ....
Would you begin watching a series from its second season? When the series is a 'space opera' sort of feature, created by acrazy sadist director with a passion for plot twists and the 'anyone can die' Game of Thrones approach? I hope you would, but in a way I also hope you won't!
A long time ago, in a cliffhanger far far away...
Well, I hope you won't...have to do it ! Because Intergalactic SLUTS is a production you really should be familiar with already if you have any interest for SL adult filmaking, representing its most original and characteristic side, joining sexual fantasies and scenarios with the ambition to create something memorable. "The possibilities are endless as ones imagination" is the line that Miss Emily used in her first detailed post about the project when it began, and that just about sums it up.
Oh, here is where I usually talk about how easy by comparison it is to make a series like this become reality in SL, when it would need to have a multi-milion budget in RL. That's it, though: easy by comparison.
For an extensive behind the scenes, check out this blog post, showing off many new and olds sets
Because making IGS Season one certainly was no easy task. Over 200 minutes of finished product, around 30 cast members with at least one sex scene, and this season already has 10 new announced. The budget as reported reached the astonishing figure of 450'000 L$, and that of course can't monetize the amount of hours spent by the collective efforts of each cast member and by the producer, director, 'special effects department'.
And that is the past. With, again, this second season announcing itself to be even more complex than the previous. More sets to be made, and miss Emily spends an unbelievable amount of time adapting and tweaking and flat out building those, and a large effort that went even in the costume design aspect. You can read all about it here

Plot twists, deaths and all the sorts, you missed out if you did not see the season finale!
If you are followers of Miss Emily's group/blog(s) you have been already exposed, one would hope, to her promotional effort for the series. Including a series of pretty darn neat pictorials made by returning star of the series Racheal Rexen. The hype train made a stop every week reminding you of the previous episodes, and if you kept up with that, that is pretty neat!
One of the returning (and quite surely alive!) cast members of season, Dr. Zoey Winsmore, in one of Racheal's pictorials
Are you also a fan of the series then? If so by now you have watched the episode, or are close to doing it. Go on and do so! You might be left with more questions than the cliffhanger of the last season gave you, though, and you might not like some of the answers given, sparingly, by this one!
Which begins with quite a shocker. To quote the 'Imdb-style' (Emdb?) page about the series...
June 2016: Season 2 picks up 5 1/2 months after Season 1 ended
Captain Emily is dead and Commander Miggins is the new Captain.
Captain Miggins browsing her cookbook, looking for the elusive recipe of the Ikea meatballs.
Hey, you know that in fiction ( also in reality, usually), to have someone officially proclaimed dead you must see the body, but Heads have been rolling all season, and the joke is on us, Emily has pulled a Ned Stark on us. (I know, I know, 'or has she' ?)
I am using the words of a wise (and sometimes even sober) man, season 1 star Larry Vinaver and telling you: "what you have here is the 'link' between the first and second season; it is a necessary 'briefing' for the viewer to bring them up to date and wet their appetite for the action to come, builds the suspense ..it also tempts their impatience and excitement to see it".
Yes, IGS is all about wetting the appetite, as Larry said... You did think that I forgot to post porn pics, huh?
It is that, and parts of it without a doubt can be appreciated much better only with knowledge of the past events and some investment in the story. Like the whole 'life is moving on and the crew needs to survive' feel through the episode, with a passing of the torch between Emily and Sandy as main character crowned with just one line followed by a meaningful camera motion. Emily is no more.
New and old faces in the series, with a lot more to happen for both!
Then again, there's a lot of new blood in this series, and the budding relationship between the new character Candy and Anyka is built up striking all the right chords, together with the 'sense of wonder' infused by the action being moved in a new location, one castle that announces to be busier than Camelot in the Holy Grail intermission. No, it's not called Castle Cum-a-lot....I think not, at least.
Moonie, Katrinova and Kei Frequency are amongst the new cast members. Complete (so far !) list here.
Emily's series doesn't require any blogging effort on my part, with every possible tidbit and promotional material avalaible on Flickr, her blog, and easy to find through her impeccable organization.
This post is simply an invitatio once more to take an interest in the series.
" This series is the best SL porn I've seen, partly due to format. The use of text screens to communicate dialog, narration and story line is so innovative, and it opened up a whole new world of creativity and a freedom to shape the series. The cast is just plain terrific. And the special effects have leveled up this series to a new high in terms of production. The result of all these things is a series that's strength is not just sex scenes, although we have plenty of hot ones, but also the way it draws the viewer into the ongoing story's twists and turns. Like a good RL TV series does."
- Ali Lancrae

Everyone has their unique viewing habits: I am a binge watcher of series, I am bad at keeping up and when I download (legally of course - coughs- ...good that there is no possible misunderstanding about SL series, being no-profit ventures) something serial, I usually do it with a bunch of episodes. SLUTS is still easy to catch up with, in its 10 ( one , two , three , four , five , six , seven , eight , nine , ten ) episodes. You are certainly not late to start watching it if you haven't yet!
Enjoy this first episode, after the jump!

The Pornstars' Rack: On Fire!
It's a special pleasure for me to talk about this issue of...
Aroused! Magazine

Hey, rather basic opening for the post, but it will be all about substance, much alike the magazine. Hopefully you are familiar with this magazine already! This is the second year of Marika Blaisdale's Aroused, and we are one issue away from 40. Quite a journey it has been!
Soon in a theater near you: 'Dance with Swallows'. Robin Rondini as the hot male lead, no Kevin Costner.
The issue was a little tough to find the balance of. I admit, I feel in retrospect that it's even a 'too' packed issue, with a great amount of talent in it and some of the finest work from those photographers. But I was getting impatient to release it, and after the next issue we are probably going to take a little holiday break for our RL schedules. So, keeping in the storage room some of these sets could lead to an even more crowded midsummer edition.
Yep, that is EXACTLY what happens for every issue. Revision is such a tough job.
Melina Jameson has 2 photosets in this issue that will be very difficult to top in the next one. One is very special for me, all about Melina's faculty to set up fun scenes and do homages the way both Marika and I enjoy best: in a light hearted (and porny!) way. It was lovely to have models like Kei Frequency, Mellie Criss and Simoni Tigerfish for it !
Now for the second shoot, it's called Dreams come true, and it's all about Melina's artistic skills as an erotic photographer. The quality is stellar, the models Sandra Palletier and Ashlynn Jameson are icons of our porn world and meaningful ones for Melina, and it is the photoset that gave me the hardest time choosing, this issue or the next? Especially because...
Sandra would certainly be a great NSA airport inspector...
....well, because Sandra Palletier was set to be in this issue already, with a -wonderful- set of her own! You have seen in these years of Sandra pictures several encounters of hers with the delicious Delicence, but I think this set from the issue is as good as it can get. Sandra has always been one of the most enthusiastic and consistent contributors to Marika's magazine(s), and I am grateful for this opportunity to feature her once again.
Sandy in one of the many cover-worthy shots of the issue
I don't believe I ever featured Nicasio Ansar in three photosets in a single issue, but he had the most captivating models in the duo of Dora Lane and Ziekel and he made my day, week and month by shooting one of the most interesting and beautiful stars of our scene, the ever modish Sandy Miggins. And yeah well, he insisted on taking pics of me too, so whatever, Nica. You win.
No, not making a 'getting wet' joke right now. Later at the party I might, ok?
Now, in my blog posts I try always to give priority to personalities who identify themselves with the porn scene or Sexiest Group in general, so I won't mention a lot about the contribution to the magazine by the trio of friends Aloyssia Hema, Loly Hallison, Marika Djannovic, but their work for Aroused speaks volumes, and I am grateful for their punctuality, committment and helpfulness. Same goes for Erika Madazzhatter, that I am going to mention also for her recent quality work for another really cool mag!
Severina (Lanisonia) in a beautiful pin-up shot. Her pictorial by Rachel Avro opens the issue on a high note
I don't want to make an overlong post about the magazine of my partner, but it was so difficult to pick a cover, even more difficult to not single out every one here for their skillful performance. Rachel Swallows' set is creative magic, Woiven is one of the talents in group that I am enjoying featuring the most these days with her artistic talents and versatility, and Rachel Avro gave this magazine a photoset that can make the sultry model Severina truly proud. Makes ME proud for sure to have been able to feature that!
Woiven in a stylish b&w for her debut on Aroused (as photographer!)
Okay, somehow I made it to the end of this post, with so much more to say, but I'll settle for this! I need to remind you about to get this thing, right? Marketplace. Issuu. Kiosks.
Also... Aroused! magazine has a presence in world thanks to that Nicasio guy, who set up a gallery for us in his AMAZING, really and seriously amazing sim. Heck, maybe it's not even a good choice to have a gallery there, the sim is so cool it's distracting! Ok well, don't want to oversell it, but I'm trying to be cheeky here and say, that we are going to try and put really cool photos there so you are not tempted to look outside.
You know, PJ homages Aroused in this set with B.E.N. and Sasquatch...oh, can't see it? Take a look at the whole set!
We are starting the summer exhibits with the opening party for someone loaded with melanine (must be, to cover that large buttockal area of hers), the Partee girl herself Parthenea! Today at 7-9 PM SLT, with Dj Stacia Reinoir! Wait, what else should we say about it? Oh, well! there will be cool stuff! Ask me about it in-world!
Contact me anytime in-world about Aroused! or any publication , movie, idea for a blog post. You know I love to write these pointless things!

The Pornstars' Rack: (Second) Life is a roller coaster
We've got March's holidays all covered already! Because we have...
SL Connoisseur

"Together with my zealous staff, we did our best to follow your feed-back requests. I will take this opportunity to thank you for contacting us, and encourage you to keep doing that in the future. We are here for you, and we want to make a magazine that you like to read."
That's part of the opening statement from the owner of the magazine Edvard Taurion, wishing everyone cheerful festivities in the month of St. Patrick's day and of course, Easter. Words simple enough, but not simply words when you look back at the growth of this young magazine from one issue to the next.

Everyone deserves a praise for this magazine, including the person who waters the plants!
A steady growth that sees the magazine showcase more and more quality content creators, from the traditional adult animation and furniture designers that are the bread and butter of Edvard Taurion' SL business, to the quality home and decor designers and clothing makers attracted to the magazine by its definite 'mainstream' appeal that trascends 'porn'. "We want to reach all parts of SL", the Executive Editor of the magazine Athena told me, and since she didn't follow that statement with improper fondling of my private ones, I think she really meant the potential audience!
There's probably a joke in there to be made about Irishmen and policemen, but fill in the blanks yourselves!
And that's without mentioning the location reports that have been prominently featured in the past issues already, and that in this new instance of the magazine see the addition in the staff of the very well known Isle Biedermann, who doesn't spend his day just taking pictures of a famous mulberry coloured club, but displays his talent outdoors, in a photoset just perfect for st. Paddy.
Tisha Carfield is one of the lovely group members who dress up for Ed in Partee's fashion shoot!
I know that of course the readers of the Pornstars blog are not here to watch the grass grow, but magazines like SL Connoisseur are a perfect vehicle for you to see your raunchy photographers and super-sexy models (and you know how often the two aspects overlap) putting their skills and passions to fruition for other aspects of SL than sex. In this issue, you'll get to see guest modeling in fashion shoots and location shots Lacey Nora, Sandy Miggins, Tisha Carlfield, Jon Demen, you'll read interviews by the already mentioned Edvard and Isle, the always hard working editor Athena, and fashion from Michaela Vixen and last month's centerfold Parthenea.
Candy Kane aka Candygurlx is the monthly Pet, brought to you by Racheal!
And I am saving pretty much the best for last, because yep there certainly is tits for you to gawk in this issue!
The spectacular centerfold by Cream Release is here too, and you must get a copy of the magazine to admire Ali Lancrae in all her glory. Likewise, the Whimsical Fantasies continue, with the lovely Aristocrat herself and her partner Fiona Hildrum. Saving the last mention of the post for the trump card of this issue Racheal Rexen, who contributed with an interview, complemented with her photography at least 3 interview sets, and was also of 'Pet of the month' duty photographing the porn starlet Candy Kane!
Great job for one hard working lady, but a beautiful coral effort for the Connoisseur team!
Which you can get in an increasing number of locations in SL. Get your copy now, and perhaps if you own a business you'll want to establish a kiosk there! IM a staff member, and let them know your opinion!
And for your magazines and movies, shoots and projects of all sorts, just IM me, I'd love to write about it here on the blog!

Zoey Winsmore's 'The Business of Women'
From Thorgal McGillivary's breakthrough project 'So You Wanna Be A Pornstar' to the current blockbuster Intergalactic SLUTS, series are a wonderful addition to the adult entertainment scene. Just like in the real world, series add a different layer of complexity and offer immense possibilities from a narrative standpoint. And with the 'porn' machinima being a creative outlet atypical when compared to the RL pornography, with a strong, collaborative and personality-driven scene, the series format seems to bring out the best from directors ambitious enough to undertake this task.
It is the case also with Zoey Winsmore's 'The Business of Women - A Lesbian Porn Noir', from Naughty Pixel Productions and featuring some of the finest talent on the scene, starting from the main character wonderfully ported to SL by Stacia Reinoir, and including Adele Simondsen, Sandy Miggins, Miss Emily. The general plot of the series is as follows...
"A lonely escort is recruited by a powerful business woman to leave the call girl life behind and join her Empire. After a rival business woman discovers a woman who can bring the rival’s Empire down, it’s up to the new recruited escort to use all her training to save the business. This tension-filled erotic feature from Naughty Pixel Productions will leave you questioning till the very end: Who is the ultimate boss babe?"

A series about power in many ways, very intriguing....and full of intrigue indeed!
Zoey has been so kind to answer my silly fangirl questions about it, so here you have it ! Enjoy!
- When did you get the crazy idea to make a series, and why a series?
" The crazy idea that got me to make a series comes from that I just love them. Emily did some in the past and I really was excited about them. There is not much when it comes to series and I wanted to do series also as it is for me like watching things develop storywise. My current series, 'The Business Of Women' of course shows that in every detail such as the personality each cast member has.
A series has a much better story line and I just like my movies to have that. I don't do just a movie that just has two or more have a bit of sex in a movie. Doing a series is like a big movie and ofcourse I can give more then just two Pornstars a role. "

- How many episodes are in the series and how far are you into the filming and editing, currently ?
It's a complex project and we have seen just 3 episodes, but you can start telling us already what a director has to deal with planning something with that structure. Not as simple as filming the plot from A to B, i imagine, just managing the sets must be difficult!
" The Business Of Women series has a total of six episodes. At the moment three episodes have been released on my studio blog and I am now halfway for this series. Currently I am shooting Episode 4, it is about a third filmed and this episode is the only one where all castmembers have an appearance in a episode. The last episode will ofcourse unfold who is going to be the ultimate boss babe... hehe.

Yes, It is complex cause of the details in the story line that I want to keep intact and for everything to make sense, as I only cover half of the time of what the original real vids are.
As a director making movies, a lot comes to me dealing with set building, the placements of decorations to make the rooms look good. Selecting poses I need to use, and ofcourse scheduling with my cast to do the movieshoots. It definetly is a more complexed project then just with photography or a short five minute movie for sure. And I also only do a two to three hours per day as a maximum for a film shooting."

- What was the best part dealing with inspiring source material such as the Girlsway series, and what are the most challenging parts to try and bring in SL? Something in particular that was in the original series but would not translate well in SL and you left it ouf for that reason? Is there anything you didn't like and wanted to change?
" The best part is that their vids have amazing stories to them. For me that is the main goal dealing with inspiring material. I love that they do series, Girlsway really became my top site for sure. :) Unfortunately not everything is able to fully recreate in SecondLife, I wish it was hehe. The poses are not always similar and for that, I have to find replacing animations and that can be challenging if I want to have those as close so the dialogs and sounds are also making sense being used.

For my current series, I mostly leave out the walking scenes. And in episode two, I decided not to cover the part where the Characters, Samantha and Charlotte walked to two different spots of pools at the house to finally finding out, my character wasn't even there. It was like back and forth walking through the house and it wouldn't translate very well to do this in SL in just about 15 minutes. I also try my best to have a balance in only dialogs and the sex scenes, having that at a 50/50 rate.
Everyone might think walking scenes are easy, but they aren't as those are the scenes that have to be very well timed by pornstars. They also take alot of time as they might have to be redone a couple times to get a decent good looking scene. Not saying I can't cover those, I can and have done that lots of times in previous released movies. But for Business Of Women, I decided not to do them and focus more on keeping the dialogs/storyline in a half reduced playtime intact. That is the thing I changed. "
- Give our readers an idea of the work that went into making the first 3 episodes a reality. How long did it take to build the sets, actually film it, and then edit it in its entirety? What did it take the longest and were there hiccups, too?
" Because of keeping storyline intact and making sense, making the first three episodes took me 24 hours to only film scenes, spreading shooting days over a few days. I don't really need alot of hours for setting up the sets, that I do in about an hour for each scene I need. Editing is the part that takes the longest of all, episode 1 and 2 both took about 50 hours each spread over a week. There were some hiccups for Episode 2, mostly with scheduling and a limited time to film the scenes. I only had about an hour per day, and there were sometimes a week when I couldn't work filming."
- You obviously are focused now on this project, with the rest of the filming going on, the editing etc. But what's next for Naughty Pixel in 2015?
" Yes, this series is my first and biggest focus now. Currently filming Episode 4 and I want to have this episode finished and released this year. But with the upcoming holiday season, it looks like Episode 5 and 6 will be released in the new year. It has to do mostly with availability and scheduling and I just know this will be very difficult in December. I wanted to have this series finished in 2015, again hiccups.

I also have filmed a movie that I decided to do to help with an auction for a friend in need, and this movie will also be released soon. Since we are almost in December, I am going to enjoy the holidays and pick up with the last two episodes of The Business Of Women in the new year. And I will start selecting movie ideas for 2016. And most likely do a new series, but will pick projects that are not so intense and more easier to film. A few ideas I have already decided and chosen. "
- Do you have any tips for aspiring actors/actresses who want to maybe work with you in the future, and to people who would like to try their luck at directing?
" Any aspiring actors and actresses that would love to work with me in the future should take a look at my studio blog, Naughty Pixel Productions at http://www.naughtypixelproductions.nl and fill out the application so I have something on file that I use for castings. I also might cast if I see someone at parties but the best tip I can give is to be around, be at parties, so we directors know you can be available. Unfortunatly, too many times it still happens someone new comes to groupchat or IMing a director asking to make them a pornstar, and then we don't see them anymore at anything.

Another tip of course is, to do some little homework and get to know who is who in our slporn industry. To inspiring new directors, to what we really can use more in slporn scene so more new aspiring actors and actresses can be in movie productions is to know this job requires much more. Making sure to have the time put into something. When I started, I got the tip to learn filming and moving camera. Learning the applications you want to use. Experiment with your skills and find what you like most. It's not easy to say tips for this, cause everyone will have their own style.
The only tip I guess I can give is to have fun when wanting to become a director. Keeping in mind, making movies will require more hours investing then doing a single photo. "
- That'd be all i think! lol. Thank you SO much for your time!
" It totally was my pleasure. Thank you for covering the "The Business Of Women" series with this interview. I hope everyone will enjoy watching as well. "

The talking points about this series were plenty, and I really think its relation to the source material is a testament to the ability and creativity of Zoey. Nobody better than Naughty Pixel Production, if anyone, could handle this type of material, and the 'mood' of this series is truly special. Enjoy the episodes after the jump, here, or just pay a visit to Zoey's website for the best quality and the screenshots.
