Magazines in Second Life are a really popular choice, for reasons we tried to investigate in the past already. The simple act of working on an issue and 'finish' it brings some virtual tangibility and a sense of closure and fulfilment, and a new issue and a new challenge are soon ahead. Challenges that require to focus the efforts of a team towards a common goal and project. Is the project worth it? Does the magazine have a vision? From their blog page, let's see what the creed of this new creation is...

The industry is huge and fascinating, and can open your world to an abundance of possibilities you never experienced or even thought of yet. Sex is also our passion, and for this reason we decided to create SX Magazine. Through our open approach to each topic, we want to share that passion with you."

Needless to say, this is pretty much what bring our group together as well, with the label of 'Pornstars' for individuals who portray sex in so many different ways. There's more.


Ivanna Hanni is one of the individuals interviewed by Gaheris Edelmann for his insightful article about BDSM.

" While you will find stunning, arousing, and downright naughty art here, we pride ourselves on being a magazine that focuses on the wonderful individuals and concepts of the sex industry. We aren't centered around page volume so much as bringing you quality photos and information with each issue. We are all about the buildup and release of interesting ideas, viewpoints, and information. "

The goal of the magazine in this first issue is very clear and as declared. SX Magazine is a new magazine, but the presentation is state of the art, and that should come to no surprise when you consider that the creator, Virgil (Virgilius08) has a proven experience with the very demanding format of the comic book.

Virgil's excellent design is supported the photography of someone who is a true revelation to me: Maya Bones (syataha Resident). You could not tell at all that this is Maya's first magazine. Her style of photography seems to be made for this task. She's not the only one providing photography: Erika Madazzhatter did a very professional job, and there are of course the original photos by the covergirl and pornographer (but also artist...fucking photographer or not!) Tatiana Easterwood.


The everlasting debate!

With this kind of quality in the photos and the presentation up to the standard, I think I am not gonna be misunderstood when I say that the strong point of the issue lies in the written word. As mentioned above in the presentation, a bountiful page volume is not the main worry of the maker, but rest assured that this issue has a 'lasting' power greater than publications 10 times its size. (Is that why you took so damn long to write about it, Kat? Oh shut up, voice in my head).
But there's also another bit from the intro that I left out...

" Because we love the SL sex industry, its artisans and concepts, we've decided to kick off the birth of SX Magazine by organizing the SX Magazine Awards. The awards are open to photographers, models, directors and actors. This is our way of celebrating the SL adult business and its people, showing everyone in our second world what our wonderful artists can create."



Ah damn it! Just as I THOUGHT that we were done with the Sexiest Awards thing and all...
Okay, here's the deal.

You have to read more about this contest , on theSX Magazine blog, and on the magazine itself. In fact, in the upcoming new issue you WILL read more about it. More than you can imagine.

Hoping everyone had a merry Christmas, I have to mention ...

SL Connoisseur



Yes yes, it's almost embarassing for me to blog about stuff with my pixel face (and more) on it, but hey, if you have followed The Sexiest flickr group, not to mention this blog too (duh!) thanks to the work of Ali on the gallery posts, you have seen me all Santa'd up throughout the whole month. And for that, I have to thank the delightful Cream Release, author of the cover of Connoisseur for this issue, after her gorgeous shoots of Emily and Erin Cedarbridge in the previous issues.

A lot of remarkable content in this issue, thanks to the Connoisseur staff in full swing!

And the reason why she has so many pics of me in coca cola-ish garb, is because we went through a few reshoots, in different locations. I want to use this space to give the highest possible praise to Cream for her patience, her dedication, and for being an invaluable collaborator any magazine could wish for.
But also to Edvard Taurion, for having a clear vision of what the magazine wanted to portray, giving justice to the his role of magazine editor. The end results proved to be really noteworthy and inspired.

A'ight, enough about my silly face: this magazine has much more than that going for it than Cream's fine photo skills. In fact, the magazine certainly has fine photography in it, but first and foremost, does its best to be a complete , entertaining, informative magazine. You already know the excellent interviews by Edvard himself, with the capable editor and 'pet' centerfold photographer Athena's photography as complement, but in this issue you will get the chance to learn more about 2 quite interesting sims thanks to an extensive reportage by the new staff member Beccha.

A trip in two intriguing sims, with Beccha's guide and talking with the creators.

The sim reports, complete with photos, interviews and anything you could possibly wish to know, represent a true highlight and added value for the magazine, helping setting up the winter mood too! But there's plenty more for the reader to spot. With contributions from Jodi Sharple, Beequeen Smythe, Whimsical Aristocrat, and the continuous work by the editorial staff as well, Connoisseur is a great read any time of the year, and the direct responsible for all those pics of me that SL's cutest pretend jew flooded her flickr with. Have a wonderful rest of the holidays , everyone!

Integalactic SLUTS: Two Weeks...

I haven't forgotten about those hot porn series, nope ! One post long overdue of course is the one about...

Miss Emily's space opera is marching towards its end phase....for this season at least. All the cards are on the table, with all the key players being introduced (have they really?). The episodes I am referring to are 7 & 8. I am sure you blog readers are versed in math enough to know that they preceed 9 and 10, which will conclude Season 1.
'Reunited' and 'Heads will Roll' present 2 new characters with a pivotal role in the story, being the 'big evil' of the series and one unexpected ally.

And it's only fitting that important roles like these are covered by 2 of the brightest stars in our scene. I feel it's quite redundant for me to try and introduce who Adele Simondsen and Ali Lancrae are: I mean, come on! Plus, ooo, I have screenshots.

I can only say that episode 7 does a wonderful job of showcasing the 'reunion' of Adele with the estranged on-screen wife Erin, and show how she is just as naughty as all the other girls on SLUTS duty!

" Lt Commander Simondsen is reunited with her wife Lt. Commander Cedarbridge. Lt Commander Simondsen has a physical and her DNA checked. Two bad slaves are punished on Diogo. A plan is put into action to attack Mistress De Vil and the other Keplerian is located and teleported to the Intergalactic alone with her new friend, and reunited with Zuby. "

And through the 2 episodes, you get to see in action, sporting a memorable and perfectly (tight)fitting look, the evil intergalactic slave trader Mistress De Vil. (here is where I imagine thunders crackle and all that... ).

" Mistress De Vil comes to Diogo to get more slaves and take back to Veder with her. Commander Miggins, Lt Commander Simondsen, Lt. Commander Cedarbridge and Lieutenant Release, proceed to Veder and kills sometime while waiting further orders. Doc Shows what loose cannon he is and has a Lightsword accident. "

Again I want to refrain from overstating the merits of this space odyssey and make it sound like Emily is the second coming of Kubrick, but I do feel that it's worth noting how if you look past the sex, like a proven 'mainstream' series Intergalactic SLUTS does a really admirable job balancing sequences that flesh out the characters, with scenes that move the plot forward.

And when she advances the plot, does if from different perspectives. in this case, Emily and the crew organizing their plan against the slavers, mixed with the villanous antics of the slavers themselves and the infiltration of the surviving Wookie Keplerian with the enygmatic 'Freckles'.

Marika is a character who already enjoyed a good amount of screentime in the previous episodes, but it's in this episode 7 that we really get to see more of her motives -if what is said is to be trusted! yes i am totally trying to fuel the paranoia here-, ending up being 'on a mission'.

I used earlier a phrase that I should clarify: "if you look past the sex". Nope. Do not! Look through it. Look at it and enjoy it, it's not really multitasking to have sex and a story in the same flick! Don't be like those prudes who dismiss anything 'porn' averting their eyes from the screen altogether and missing the big picture....but at the same time, heck, enjoy the sex, because this is a porn series and does a damn good job at it.

44 minutes and over 33 are of hardcore sex! And with a big cast packed with truly hot pornstars. Let's list them: on the station together with stranded Keplerian Zuby, we have the official crew with captain Emily, her second in command Sandy Miggins, the medical officer Zoey Winsmore, the reunite couple of Erin and Adele, the volatile Lt. Cream Release. The Chief Engineer Anyka was busy manning the engines while everyone else was shagging, sadly.

And on the slavers' base, the antics of those ruthless SOB's are provided by Damien Godard, Doc-Torr, and the fresh addition Gaheris Edelmann. They are led by Ali Lancrae, obviously. And as eye candy and fine meat for the trade, we have Partee, Rachel Avro, Amia Jordan, Whimsical Aristocrat, Janis Aulder, Aura Badger. And as infiltrators, Marika Blaisdale and her trusted and slutty new companion.

There's plenty see in both episodes: there's sex for every taste -no pun intended- from tender lesbian sex to a ganbang in a futuristic cage-like structure. Cocks, pussies, kinky fuck machines, torture racks, anything but the kitchen sink! In fact, if you have problems with your sink, just bring it over, some people would screw anything as long as it is about unclogging the pipes!

And with all the sex and the twists and turns of the plot, it would be really easy to ignore all the immense work that went into the production. Try and count the different sets used, the props you see, some rather...unique. Try really hard to count, considering also that Emily's transitions with the spaceships landings are so effortless that you don't even 'see' them. All bits of work that do so well to keep the viewer immersed in the scene.

It's truly a mighty effort in machinima production, which I have been really proud to be a part of and that I hope will receive as much recognition possible. In fact, I have received some really surprising news, at this stage just a rumour, that might really cement the spot of this series as a legit 'franchise' like nothing else in the world of SL machinima. But I don't want to jinx it and certainly if anything needs to be announced, it will be Emily to do so, on her excellent blog (it even has an Imdb-style credits page here!).

And Emily's blog is also the best place to watch her movies, from the cloud. But guess what? I still put them here too , embedded from NM, after the jump. Enjoy , and stay tuned for the next episodes very soon. Winter is coming! Will we have more suprise buttsechs and skullfucks? We'll see!
