The Pornstars' Rack: Kinky Magazines!

Leather and latex on your body, metal around your neck and wrists....
Terrible beachwear, but great for some kinky fun behind closed doors, right?! With AC and everything.
This is...

SLBM - SL Bondage Models

The Cover

"It feels great to finally be able to put those words into print for you. It feels wonderful to look upon the pages of this newly revamped magazine's premiere issue. And it feels exhilarating to be able to share my excitement with everyone who picks up this first issue of the new Second Life Bondage Models."

This is how co-owner, lead writer and CEO of the magazine Dark Lichlore begins addressing the magazine readers... or 'kinksters', what a fitting and catchy definition. So what is this magazine about? The title sorta tips you off, doesn't it?

Here, visual hint for you.

This visually captivating (I shouldn't use the word 'captive' too lightly tho...) magazine came out last month, and was brought to my attention initially by the excellent work of Domino Dupre on her Erotica Unbound blog. To quote her, "A lot of dark and hot artwork rest behind the cover of this magazine that caters to the BDSM crowd, but just about any lover of erotica will enjoy."

As Domino pointed out in her coverage, the magazine has a strong tie with a sim she covered at the end of the last year in one of her fine 'Places to play' features. I am talking of course of Serenity Lost, one sim who meanwhile went on winning an AviChoice award, for favourite Adult Sim! And an updated version of 'Places to play' by Dark Lichlore is just one of the articles you will find in this issue of SLBM, casting eyes over the d/s lifestyle and art also beyond the frame of SL.

Serenity Lost owner TrinaCarlsson is a co-owner of the magazine, and as you see, she is all about teamwork

This magazine comes from the joint efforts of 3 co-owners, and there is no better way for you to get some background information than reading it on the magazine directly, in this very well presented premiere issue. Dark Lichlore was doing the honours with his foreword and interviews, so, as Sexiest Pornstars member together with his exceptionally talented partner and long time blog favourite Luvi, I contacted him to chat a bit about the magazine. Here's the result. Enjoy!

The SLBM creative team scrapbook.

- When did you come up with the crazy idea of putting together a SL Magazine?

" Well, we had tossed around the idea of doing a regular photo series for flickr or deviantArt for a while. Then one day, Luvi started getting her IM window blown up by Trina (owner of Serenity Lost), telling her that the SLBM business was up for grabs, presenting us with the opportunity to do even more than a photo series. We pooled our resources with Trina, and that night, we were the new owners of Second Life Bondage Models.
It took us a little longer to get things going due to a lot of real-life technical issues (a dead laptop, a 5 month long battle with our internet service provider, and a few more minor ones) and some health issues that arose, but in the end I think that the delay gave us even more time to plan and nail down just what we wanted to do with SLBM and the direction to take it in."

New SLBM Logo

The artwork of Luvi is a perfect fit for the theme of the magazine.

- You chose to take over an existing magazine from the previous owner. In what way this incarnation of the magazine is different from the previous?

" The previous incarnation of SLBM was focused more on kidnapping, capture, and forced sex. We saw an opportunity to broaden the focus of the magazine, to entail other aspects of BDSM and the D/s lifestyle, not only in photos and stories, but also being able to inform readers about these aspects, turning it into a bondage magazine for everyone instead of a limited audience. We kept to the original theme a bit for the premier issue, using it to highlight Serenity Lost and CARP sims, but future issues will have different themes and focus."

Just have this big new roll of duct tape to use...

- One thing our readers will be very interested in - i know - : is the magazine looking for more collaborators, such as writers, photographers , victims...err, models I mean?

*laughs loudly* " We are always taking applications for vict... *cough* I mean models. We have had many more than we had first expected, and we hope to keep getting a great influx of them. We are also taking story contributors, either in rough ideas or completed works, and we will work with the writers of them to make sure that they are happy with what we use. As for photographers... as the workload continues to increase, we may start to take applications for more, as currently we have one main photographer (Luvi) and a couple more who can work if needed. Other than that, I never know what new position we may need to fill as time goes on... so any talent in writing, photography, modeling, blogging, etc, can come in handy."

What is behind the cover? For you to find out, in this issue!

- Also, do you have any particular plan about the future releases, how many issues in a year, etc?

" We are planning on making the magazine itself a quarterly release, as this gives us time to generate the most ideas for one issue and also the time to get them ready for print. We are planning to offer novels for purchase as the previous owner did, which will be longer than the typical magazine shoots and have an accompanying story to go along with the photos. There is also talks of a calendar for 2016, featuring models who have appeared in our pages, or the previous incarnation of SLBM, which will be a free gift for group members."

- Thank you very much for your time!

" Thank you for the interview.. Hey... can you take a look at this handkerchief real quick? A little closer..."

I don't recall much of what happened after, I think with the heatwave , I sorta took a nap or something. I also am pretty sure I didn't leave home with my panties worn as a gag, or how could I have done the interview, but well....I squirm a lot in my sleep.

Nevermind that, I'll see you soon for more magazine coverage! Just remember, that you can get a copy of SLBM at their HQ, together with a great display of  Simple Pleasures Studios' fine photography, and other things, such as an app form to be featured in the future, and one of the coolest affiliate kiosks ever. Think about grabbing it and rezzing it at your sim, because a high quality Bdsm magazine in your lounge is always a hit with the discerning patron. Plus, it looks cool!

Tell me stuff about your magazine, you know I love to give exposure to your work ! A big thanks again also to Domino, for the blog post and the image hosting!
